Health & Fitness

Y Lose It Begins February 1st!

  1. This weight-loss competition will run for 5 months, beginning February 1st and ending June 30th 2013.  Registration begins January 21st thru January 31st.  There will be a meeting on January 31st at 7:00 pm in the Community Room to explain rules and answer any questions you may have.  We will also be recording your weight after the meeting.
  2. This competition will be done in teams of 2 but no more than 5 people per team.
  3. Participants must be a member of the Clinton Community YMCA.
  4. Children ages 10 and up may also participate.  We will be limiting their weigh-ins to once a month throughout the program instead of weekly like the adults.
  5. Participants need to weigh-in using the digital scale in the Wellness Room, recording their weight each week.  We will have forms to record your weight/name in the old Aquatics office (across from the water fountain near the front desk).  You will put the forms in a locked mailbox in the Aquatics office.  That information will only be viewed by Bonnie Taylo.
  6. Each person will be weighed on the same scale throughout the competition.
  7. The registration fee is $25 for adults, $10 for children.
  8. Scoring is based on percent (not number) of pounds of body weight lost per individual.  Prizes will be awarded monthly and a grand prize for the male and female who has lost the most total percentage of their body weight.
  9. We will have weekly challenges to complete; tickets will be awarded to those who have completed each challenge.  The male/female who has won the most tickets at the end of each month will be awarded a prize.  There will be other ways to earn tickets throughout the contest which will be discussed at the meeting.

The purpose of this contest is to support your efforts to follow a healthy weight-loss diet and exercise program and to establish patterns that you can continue long after the contest is over.  It is not intended to promote rapid weight loss.
