Volunteers make the Y go round!
Volunteers are the most valuable component at the YMCA. Volunteers allow us to meet our mission everyday. Without them, our work would not be possible. All volunteers fill out a job application form and sign a permission waiver to preform a background check.
Think you might be interested in helping out at the Y? Just look at some of the great opportunities we have for you to make a difference in the lives of others:
Sports Coach - From preschoolers - 8th graders, the Y has a lot to offer. Coaches serve as role models and values educators teaching the core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith.
Sports Officials - The Y always needs good values-based adults to officiate games for flag football, volleyball, soccer and basketball. If you’re a good role model and relate well to children, then this is the opportunity for you.
Front Desk Volunteer - Are you cheerful and relate well to others? Then consider helping teach others about all the great work done at your YMCA while you help at the front desk.
Program Volunteers - The Y always needs volunteers to help with leagues, special events, Jr. high After Hours, instructional classes, and much more.
Child Care Helper - Help make the child care room a safe, fun place for kids. You’ll work closely with newborns to six (6) year olds. Child care helpers teach values through working with children during teachable moments. Be a part of teaching them how to relate well to others. Child Care staff must be CPR trained and go through a screening.
Maintenance/Custodial Help - The Y can often use help in keeping the facility clean and in good repair. This Y was built through the generous contributions of people just like you, and it’s through the continued care of dedicated volunteers that we will be here for generations to come.
