Description:
- Ask the players what they should do if they think the official made a bad call. Allow time for responses. Say, "if you say something bad to the official, make a face, kick the ball, or in any way complain, how do you think that makes the official feel? Do you think it makes the official like you more? I don't think so."
- Say, "First since we already decided the official doesn't care who wins, we can assume that he or she did not make the bad call on purpose. Second, it is just your opinion that it was a bad call. And finally, I want you to show officials respect because they are helping you to learn the game.
- Tell them to talk to their families that night about why it is important to show respect to officials
